Commuters in Sydney are facing a nightmare journey home with up to 90 per cent of train services cancelled after half of the rostered train drivers and guards did not turn up for work in a snap industrial action.
Over 600 drivers did not show up for work today, causing mass cancellations across the network and plunging the public transport system into chaos.
Commuters heading home in the afternoon peak have been warned to avoid the train network at all costs.
